From Vancouver’s rainy suburbs to Toronto’s infill neighborhoods, wood-framed houses have been the default choice – familiar to builders, accepted by municipalities, and relatively affordable.

In contrast, steel is non-combustible. Cold-formed steel framing doesn’t ignite, doesn’t feed the fire, and maintains structural integrity for longer under high temperatures when designed properly with appropriate fire-rated assemblies. For homeowners and insurers alike, that’s a critical difference.
